Hey, I'm Aaron
/əˈrɒn/
I'm a senior backend and DevOps engineer by day and a systems tinkerer by night. Saying I'm passionate about reliable software doesn't quite capture it — I care about the details: clear APIs, observable pipelines, and deployments that don't wake anyone at 3am.
When I'm not designing services and infrastructure, I'm usually exploring new tools, writing in the engineering log, or refining Sidekeek — an AI conversational data platform with real-time pipelines and LLM workflows.
Off the clock I'm deep into anime — long-form storytelling, sharp animation, and worlds you can sink into for a season (or three). Football and good food round out the balance.
Currently building Sidekeek — an AI conversational data collection platform with real-time pipelines and LLM-driven workflows.
Manifesto
Good systems solve real problems; they don't just pass the demo. I start with what teams and users actually need — data flows, failure modes, and the cost of change — not whatever's trending this quarter. I prototype early, measure in production, and iterate from feedback. The best backends feel boring because someone sweated the edges: idempotency, sane defaults, and observability you can trust when things get loud. Technology should reduce cognitive load, not add ceremony. When reliability, clarity, and speed align, products feel effortless. My job is finding that balance on every build.
